About Nikki

DSC_8747_edited.jpg
I have over 20 years of personally experiencing the power of yoga, mood and stress management, functional & alternative medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle change to reverse the devastating effects of depression and substance abuse. My own recovery began with a move to the desert in my mid-20's accompanied by a wholehearted commitment to saving a sinking ship: Me.

My 'self-imposed intervention' led to me creating, what I later realized, was basically my own 'out-patient program.' I sought out the best holistic medicine and mental health professionals, dove into the study and practice of yoga and nutritional healing, explored the 12-step world, tried an array of alternative therapies, found new people/places/things that fed my soul, and hiked a ton. My life began to turn around. Along my journey, I discovered I had a passion for mind-body medicine and a gift for helping others and began delving deeper into my primary interests via formal study and training.

Without guidance, the process of recovery can be a long and arduous one - I know mine was. I can confidently say if I had someone to help me navigate, provide resources, hold me accountable, and be an unwavering source of reflection and compassion - I could have moved through it much more swiftly and saved myself a lot of time, energy, heartache, and money. Enlisting help is one of the most empowering things we can do for ourselves.

This valuable lesson is what inspires me to do the work I do today. I thrive on helping those who truly long to change, have the courage to face their rawest self, and are willing to wholeheartedly commit to playing an active role in creating a life they love!
About my coaching

  • My approach to guiding clients toward their goal is practical, results-oriented, and empowering
  • I am a strong proponent of the power of addition when it comes to making life changes. The more positive aspects we bring in, the more easily the negative ones fall away
  • I believe that black-and-white thinking is not helpful and that everyone's experience is unique
  • A trained therapist can help delve into the past, getting to the root of and processing emotional trauma. I am not a therapist, I am a coach. My job is to focus on the present goals, strategize the creation of a magnificent future, and help you bring it to fruition.
