Yoga Sutra 1.2  - Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind

A regular yoga practice (sadhana) consists of pranayama (breathing techniques), asana (physical postures), and meditation. These practices are not 'one size fits all' and are most effective in creating a transformative experience when customized for the practitioner. Yoga is a centuries-old science with the power to affect change in every aspect of your life. 

 

I have specialized training in Yoga for Mood Management, Trauma-Informed Yoga, Yoga for Addiction, Yoga Nidra, Individualized Yoga Therapy, and Ayurveda (the Indian science of lifestyle and nutrition) and can design a customized practice just for you.

Private yoga sessions may include any combination of:

  • Yogic philosophy teachings

  • Alignment focused physical practice (asana)

  • Pranayama (breathing techniques)

  • Meditation practices

  • Yin (deep stretching/long holds)

  • Restorative Yoga

  • Yoga Nidra (restorative guided relaxation)

  • Sound/Mantra

  • 90-min intake review
  • 75-min private yoga exploratory session
  • 75-min individualized yoga practice session
  • 1 recorded sadhana (individualized daily yoga practice)
  • 60-min follow-up session

Private Yoga Sessions

Single 1-hour session – $120


1-hour sessions – monthly commitment
once per week – $100/ea
twice per week – $90/ea

Gentle assisted stretching can be incredibly therapeutic for those with limited mobility. I will guide you through a personalized sequence of postures and movements based on your current condition and long term goals.

 

Assistance allows the body to remain more relaxed while lengthening muscles and connective tissue creating better circulation and improved flexibility. Restorative yoga postures (passive and often incorporating props such as straps, blocks, blankets, and bolsters) calm the nervous system allowing the body to rebalance and heal.

My background and training

I am a down to earth teacher and coach with a practical, results-oriented approach to guiding clients toward their optimal health well being.

I have over 20 years of personal experience and education in yoga, mood and stress management, mind-body medicine, positive psychology, overcoming substance abuse, lifestyle change, nutrition, and mindfulness.

Over the past twelve years, I've worked with private clients, at yoga studios, private clubs, my own home studio, and in various addiction treatment centers and sober living homes. I've been part of outreach programs for at-risk teens and am passionate about prevention, education, and empowerment.

I am an RYT 500E Certified yoga instructor with over 1000 hours of teaching experience and 800+ of training. I began my practice nearly 20 years ago when I embarked on a journey seeking peace and balance - mind, body, and spirit. Yoga has had a profound impact on all aspects of my life and I love guiding others along their own yogic path, whether they are a beginner or an advanced practitioner.
